Costco has 100 % cotton bar cloths.

I got mine at Target, but they're not cheap! Around $20-$25 each bath towel. I took them home, washed them in hot water - liquid detergent only!, dried them with no softner sheets, then cut all the sewn edges off - they'll scratch the car! Try to get ones with the least amount of ornate embroidery.

You have a couple of options;

Zaino "Blonde Towels" - Some have commented on their lack of drying ability, but if you wash them first prior to using them, (do not use fabric softener) this will help immensely.

"Higher-end" stores (ie; MACYS) - offer 100% cotton, white, bath towels. I bought a "stash" of 8 'Fieldcrest' "Charisma" bath towels and they work great. Unfortunately they're no longer available, but I'm sure you could find a suitable replacement. (Be sure to remove the tag(s) and wash before use)

watchout for those man... they scratch like hell! I only use those for interior and wheels...

I detailed JDM Silvia one time. The customer went home and wipe it down with detail spray and BRAND NEW costco yellow MF. (he lives just few blocks away) The car got swirl mark EVERYWHERE! Needless to say, he came back and bough 1/2 a dozen plush MF from me after... LOL

You want to use microfiber towels. Target has good deals. Also, go to www.autogeek.com and they will give you good ideas. Cotton bath towels will leave swirl marks and lint. Not god for drying or waxing a car. Especially a black one.
