I have never done such a thing EVER, however there has never been a car like the Camaro for me to want like this before. Many including me have seen it, so I do believe my eyes. YES it does look awsome and for what it is worth the paint is fine, just like any other new car GM produces. As for everything else I am taking my chances, I am betting $35,000 plus it will be well worth it. NUTS NO, BUT the world is changing quickly,so we may be the last people to get a 426HP V8. This my friend is very possible.

Yes I did it with my 78 Z28, but that was only $6300, of course that was a lot of money for a 17 year old, but I paid cash. That was my reward for getting a full scholarship, so the college fund was no longer needed.

ARE WE NUTS OR WHAT?????? Yes... with all the engineering thats going into this new camaro.... No..... And I believe your right about "we may be the last people to get a 426HP V8" At least for that kind of money. Time will tell, but I didn't want to take any chances which is why I preordered one.

Did that with my 04 GTO. Wasn't "nuts"... slightly intoxicated maybe... but not nuts...

p.s. I at least got to see and touch one in Buffalo at GM Powertrain's Anniversary party last fall. Didn't get to sit in it though- doors were locked.

I think this makes us an elite class of enthusiast appropriately called "enthusinuts".

Seriously, good question. I've never done such a thing before but I feel that the legacy of the Camaro speaks for itself. I expect little issues here-and-there but the Camaro doesn't have a lock on those. It will take a little time to adjust to having a car with "hood" in my line-of-sight but that's about it.

I thought the same thing when I finally placed my order in November, but I kept remembering the words of the Fbodfather " KEEP THE FAITH "......

Fast forward to Jan 16 at the Montreal Auto Show, I sat in the car uninterrupted for at least 20 minutes ( I bolted straight to it bypassing everything else ), I crawled all around it, I felt her up...... and I can honestly say this car feels GREAT ... It's got KILLER looks..... Fit and finish is amazing.... Paint is great..... Headers will fall right into place....

" ARE WE NUTS OR WHAT "....... My wife thinks so, but I can live with that

Since I'm buying it for looks and I know how it looks, I'm not nuts :P

And I read all the reviews for it and made sure GM got some government money before I bothered ordering lol.

Only a "little". They have to go back Feb 17th to Congress and show how they are actually going to be profitable (viable) in order to get the real money...
