Like someone posted earlier, when your putting on that coat of wax you won't even remember there was a wait!
Also not to offend those who purchased off the lot, I'm very glad they had the chance to do that. I ordered my a few days before they started production. No way unless they were well over priced that I would have had that option! |

I waited 5 months for mine. And my dealer kept tring to sell me something on the lot. I wouldn't do it. But, when my car came in no customers touched mine and I saw the plastic on my seats and it was wonderful. It had 4 miles on it. Wait it's so worth it.

The really hard part for me is knowing it is sitting on a lot just a few hours away and has been waiting on a truck for the last 3 days .....

Keep your order. When I tell people about it, there's a special satisfaction when I tell them I ordered it myself, exactlly like I wanted. You can't get that if you buy it off the shelf, even if they have the same thing you ordered.

I just got my SIM 2SS/RS A6 polished 20"s, on the 23rd. My local dealer did a search and found a nearby dealer had one coming in my wanted configuration. So, I got mine with no test drives by the public, but 104 highway miles on it (A retired dealer employee drove it - average speed - 52 mph). I was ok with that, and had only about a 10 day wait.

One off the lot is almost as good. But when you order one direct its like you took the factory home one night, boned it it and a few months later you get a knock at the door from a lil chevy. This was the first car I ever ordered and from a carguy mentalitity it make the connection so much more spiritual and closer.

I'm kind of feeling the same way. I ordered on on November 9 and the dealer said I should have it before xmas. The car hasn't even been built yet.

I ordered my 1SS/RS/manual two days ago and was told i had to wait 8-12 weeks. then i came home and started looking around the web for ideas and stumbled on to this forum.
you will be glad you waited, just think, the car is being built just for you !!! no greasy prints and marks on the doors from people getting in and out of the car when it was sitting on the lot !!! The anticipation is one of the best parts of the purchase |
