The real reason that GM is holding those ZL1s is because they found out that the 2013 GT500 did a 1/4 mile run in 10.9sec @126mph and i'm assuming they don't wanna be embarassed when the ZL1 is released...

I think it is taking longer than expected to rack up the miles on the CTF cars.

Look, whatever the QC reason is, it is all for YOUR benefit. Would you rather get your car now then days or weeks later, you have to take it back to the dealer for repairs where it will sit and its fate left to untrained techs to try to figure out the problem? Or, would you rather have issues fixed at the factory by the people who designed and built them, before your car is delivered to you? Both scenarios still take time but having your car at the dealer to get fixed is more stressful IMO (horror dealer experiences come to mind) than waiting for it to arrive fixed from the factory.
Chilax, read Dragoneyes write up, watch the VIR vid of the ZL1...wait patiently.

Actually when I started this post it had nothing to do with the delay of the QC or for that matter a delay of a week or two for more of the allocations to be ready for the next round. But just a simple question of when will the allocations extend to for the MY 2012. I commend Chevy for holding back on releasing any of the ZL1's before enough proper testing was performed etc. Also to further state I was not trying to stir up trouble, I am thrilled this car is being made and can't wait to bring it to camarofest 3 with my partner in crime (wife).

The older I get the more I take my time and savor these moments, they don't come along too often in a lifetime and the anticipation is part of the experience.

I too am waiting patiently, but the sad part is everyone will have a 2012 zl1 that will soon be a MY older and with that comes a depreciation in value and on top of that alot of people are having to pay over invoice. I for one am being charged 5g's over msrp and don't really mind or shall i say i didn't mind. If this keeps dragging out i may very well try to get my deposit back and try for a 2013 at a different dealer or i'm also kinda losing the excitement i had. honestly reading these threads keeps me attached to this awsum machine....then on the other hand i read threads that really make me wonder if 65g's is worth the stress that i am going thru, but just as soon as one gets discouraged you read a 4 part post like Dragoneye produced and realize it truly will be worth the wait.....but damn what a rollercoaster of emotion....Thanks for the ride.:(:(

now who knows. I am third in line first two are in the QC hold.

Aye bunch of us slated for week of march 5th :(

True!

It's been about 45 years since a "car" (that doesn't seem fitting), any product with 4 wheels has been made that caused so many to be so grateful. The details keep proving this was no ordinary project, was mission oriented, and intends to exceed expectations. For anyone wanting a vehicle fitting this profile, there is absolutely nothing in comparison. Nothing.

GM told me I was was rescheduled for the week 3-12....and they told me that a week ago, I wonder if my scheduled build week will change again, or if thats why they rescheduled last week. I think Fbod kinda told us that its a supplier issue and QC is not complete.

Yes. I now have a slight concern of the possibility of all 2012 allocations not being filled. I trust that they have planned for something like this in thier estimates.
