My 2010 L99 Coupe did not have these, but my 2011 L99 Vert does.

Just trying to figure out what the heck these things are...
Got an.LS3... no springy thing like your pix...

I tried installing a flowmaster when I first got my vert, had the entire stock system off-definitely nothing like ur pic.

Ya, definitely an L99 vert thing. I have seen 3 L99 verts since, and everyone has had them.

I cannot remember where I ran across the article, but it seemed to describe what you're looking at as a valve inside the exhaust pipe that partially restricts the exhaust flow at low throttle opening, yet opens up to allow full flow when the need arises. I think it said it was all part of the AFM system.

I just wish I could find the article.

Modawg, I think the S type will fit your need; loud and throaty, but not overdone. The Touring type are a little too quiet (these are what are on the GM performance upgrade option), these S type sound awesome when starting the car and have a good deep rumble which only get's "overdone" when the car is pulling up a steep grade, but not bad; the Atak's are fairly loud at all ranges, which sounds good, but in my opinion is to much for vert operation.

Another Axle Back Question;

I've been considering the S-type Borla for my vert, but wondering how it compares to the SLP PowerFlo? I really like the appearance of the SLP, but don't know any specs on the volume or performance. And I think the Loudmouth II might be a bit too loud for the vert.

Thoughts?

Now that my car is at least built, I'm about to pull the trigger on ordering the Loudmouth II! Now to see which arrives first (my money is on the exhaust before the car gets here).

If anyone installs Borla S type with a CAI, let me know sound levels with top down. I understand CAI will increase sound output by itself and am curious how it all comes together with the vert.

Hey Lightrider!

Today I ordered Borla S-type catback for the convertible along with CAI intake. Now I just need a car to put them on! I'll probably have them on within a day of picking up the car. Any day now...any day now...any day now...is it here yet?

Hope you get it soon!!!

Can't wait to hear your thoughts on sound level when everything's installed.
