It's far less $ to mod the LS3 to make more power than the LS7. Also, anyone that is interested stop in...we have a low 9 sec 2011 in the shop that is COPO power with street legal use yet.

I pulled my factory ls7 motor and sold it to put in a LSX forged motor. Another local just did the same.
With how fragile the ls7s are you are crazy wanting to put on in. Do forged motor for 1/2 the cost that is 3x as strong. Why spend a ton of money for cast pistons and fragile heads.

Too much work for not enough payoff - thinking specifically about the dry sump setup. Spend the same amount of money and make more power. Unless you specifically want to say "I have an LS7."

The thing you need to figure out if the dry sump and the pulley spacing. I think the pulley spacing is different with the LS7 crank, you should talk to someone knowledgeable before you buy anything.

No way I woild do a factory LS7. Way too much money for what you get. If you are for sure going to stay all motor for the rest of the cars life then sure do a LS7 block but I would use aftermarket everything else. Having the heads and internals aftermarket will save a ton of money plus it will be more reliable and make way more power. The current LS7 has a bit of a problem in that is chews up valve guides. In extreme cases they have dropped a valve from this blowing the motor.

Just need a spacer for the crank for the longer snout. SDPC sells them. That will allow you to convert to a dry sump and run all the factory stuff.
Still, not worth it at all. Spend less and get a better motor. Just like buying a GMPP crate motor with stock rods and crank for more than aftermarket, it is just stupid.
