ported cylinder heads test on my blown SS
Doing a cam swap on my car here in a week or two and just bought some used cylinder heads to port for it too. I'm going to install them later so I'll know how just the heads do by themselves. Of course I'm going to scew the test as much as I can to make it look good as possible lol. Just a heads up that I'm doing the test. Don't think anyone has done a comparison of just stock vs ported heads on a blown SS.

Looking forward to hearing what you end up with, been wanting to know if ported heads are worth anything real on a blown ss myself.

Exactly. Same with headers you will loose boost but gain power.
Now wait a minute. If your making 540rwhp through the manifolds on 10psi and now make 570 with headers on 8.5psi you gained more than 30rwhp off headers. Bring the boost back up to 10psi so you can really see what the headers gave ya. As with ported cylinder heads you have to keep everything the same as possible to really see what you get.

It will be great to see the results, been wanting to have my factory heads ported. Bo are you doing the porting or having it done?

i have a very common set-up on my 2010 L99 that livernois did. maggie 3.6 pulley cam ...etc... i saw alot of these combo on this site putting 540-550 to the rear wheels... i had mine done in different stages with the addition of there cnc head work done to my heads and a DSS aluminum drive shaft... i put down 586 to the rear wheels with 22's on the car... so i have to assume the extra hp came from the heads .

Oh no that's not an ugly chamber for a stock cylinder head. It awesome compared to some lol.
