SHORT THROW SHIFTER

I have a '13 2LT and want to install a short throw shifter but have a few questions

Will the GM performance shifter work in a V6?

I have been told that the GM performance shifter is a Hurst Shifter, is this true?

Can I use my stock shifter knob and boot, the White pool ball is not my style

In addition I heard that the HURST shifter is very rough and not that good of a choice which is why GM stoped using them

Im confused can someone set the record staright for me and point me in the right direction please

Below is the link to the only shifter, im told is avaliable

the link to gmpartsdirect says V6 uses stock knob, not sure if its better than the stock shifter? I was thinking about getting one as well...? not sure if you can use the white pool ball on the V6? but I kind of like it... somebody on this Site must know the real deal! hopefully someone with one will chime in...

you can use the white pool ball on the Hurst shifter, only thing is Hurst sends you the v8 knob and when you get it then you have to call in and order the v6 knob. they send for free to you. only difference is where reverse is. i installed it today and love the shifter. solid feeling and such a short throw compared to stock. also it comes with a piece you can install and use stock knob.
