I honestly can say with the exceptions of a few slides around corners etc.. I have never done any burnouts in this car. These tires are thumbs down the worst I have ever experienced. If someone gave me a free set of new P Zero's i would throw them off a cliff..

So, just in case you do get a free set...... I'll take them off your hands

Just changed mine at 40K. I should have changed them at 28K.

I switched to the General G-MAX's and they are a dream. Much more quiet/smooth than the Pirelli's were, feel grippier too, if that's a word...

Not necessarily. Age just means you're old. If wisdom was gained, you'd have figured out that a LS engine was meant to breathe and eat. Nothing says you gotta floor it from light to light but to drive like a granny, just to save tires doesn't make sense. That's what my years of have shown me, and there have been plenty of years to learn that.

Breathing and eating doesn't equate into balding the tires...words of wisdom

I had 69K on my OEM's when I replaced them. I do switch to a set of winter wheels when its cold enough to snow though. And I had converted them to drag slicks by the time they came off. However, the best deal I found was on BFGoodrich g-Force Sport COMP-2. At the time they were the best price. Seemed to hold up well and were rated much higher than the OEMs.

I didn't buy my Camaro for the purpose of burning the tires off it. I bought it because I love the lines and have wanted a Camaro since 1967. There are plenty of times when I let the horses roar... it just (usually) doesn't involve spinning the tires. "Grandma" would fill her Depends if she drove like I do.

Pirelli's are Crap

I have 30,000 miles on the Pirelli tires and they are wearing in the center like there is too much air pressure in them. Since I am not the first owner (I bought my SS2 with 19,000 miles on it), Pirelli won't replace them. I am putting Hankook Ventus ST's on the back and Ventus V12 on the front. The reviews look great for these tires.

I got close to 40K out of my stock Pirellis. I have since switched over to Mickey Thompson Street Comps. I love these tires. Perform much much better in the rain.

I do not care at all for the performance of the Pirelli's, not enough grab.

On my G8, I really liked the Goodyear Eagles performance. Life was decent for a performance tire.

Well, I only have 8300 miles on my Pirellis but they still look brand new - and I don't "grandma drive" (but I don't spin 'em very often either). I hope to get 30K out of them but I will probably go with Nittos or Hankooks come replacement time.
