USB connection is dodgy

Just got a 2014, every time I fire up the car the USB doesn't work, so unplug, plug in and all is good. I have an iPod Classic which is probably a good 6yrs old. I didn't have this issue with my 2012, but I do seem to recall similar issues with My 2010, anyone else having this problem?

Assuming Mylink, it's a known bug. Workaround is to power off the Mylink before killing ignition. Sucky workaround I know.
