I am not made of money, but I can afford it. I am just feeling like I would be throwing money down the drain, probably $6-7k. Although my GM card just got topped off at $3K! But I am have a ton of fun racing my 1LE.

My 1LE has a bunch of mods and I love drag racing with it. So this old fart would do the same with the Stingray.

I am thinking about that. It's a much smarter idea than buying one now. I would have to pay close to list or list for a Z51.

My Vette would list out below $60K. I got my my 1LE at invoice for $41K. My GM cards is topped off at $3K. So that's $16K + I would lose about $7K in the trade. So say $23K difference. But the Vette will always be worth more than the 1LE. Still it is a lot of $$ as you say. But I would race the Stnigray, it would not be a garage queen. I would be missing too much fun to baby it.

I can see you already have a good idea of what would happen $ wise if you were to trade or sell the Camaro.I obviously don't know your personal financial abilities,or if you owe on your Camaro or not,but you have plenty of time considering the Vette just came out.I was thinking about letting mine go for different reasons,it is a third car and is hardly driven and I have a truck I no longer want, which would have me driving the camaro everyday, which is not a bad thing, but not what I bought it for,but trading or selling is probably not a good move for me.I vote keep the Camaro.

I was at Barrett Jackson this weekend and they had the Bondurant C7s out there, where you get to ride in one with a professional driver, and they whip you around a fairly small course. It was fun, but I didnt see the Vette do anything a Camaro couldnt. Im sure it handled better because of its lower weight, but you have a 1LE that is designed to handle. Granted, it wasnt me that was driving it, but from what I took out of the ride, Ill happily keep my car, until a ZL1 shows up that I can afford!

Well she did amend that original offer. She would give $6k as a birthday gift or that amount on payments. But it's just one big slush fund, so I'd be wasting "our" money either way.

There are very few Z51s around, and all those I think are 2LTs at list or with ADM. So I would have to order. I might get the GM suppliers discount, but I am sure my card top would expire by then. So I am looking at a $58-59K and tax on about $28K.
I am really afraid to drive one as it might be love. And that would not be for at least a week with the snow on the ground. And realistically I might only get $32K for my 1LE for a $9K loss. The upside is I would keep my 1LE. So what if I took the $6k and got a tune, cam, ported manifold, and ported heads? 11s would be easy. One other Stingray $$ knock. My daughter is getting married next year. So while college expenses are almost over parenting never ends. Still they are so worth it.
