DIY: Painted 4 Gauge Pack
If any of you are like me you really hate that gray colored plastic right next to the shifter. Well being tight on money I came up with a solution. Now I don't have before pictures as I decoded to do a DIY about halfway through this process, sorry.
To start: Take apart the four gauge pack, it just pops out. Pretty easy really. Then you want to unscrew your gauge cluster (if you have one). Prepping your parts. I used 320 grit sandpaper on my parts before I painted them. Feel free to use anything higher (I would not recomend lower as the point of sanding is to smooth the part out). After sanding us complete we move onto the first layer of paint. Really anything from Autozone will do, just pick your favorite color really. Spray a nice later down and be sure to get all the knocks and crannies of the gauge pack. Wait about 30 minutes, or until dry your call. Then we sand a bit. Again I used 320 grit. Mostly because that's what I had laying around. Here are some before sanding and after sanding shots. |

That was my bad. So continuing.
After sanding Something I should point out now, and I apologize for not saying this earlier. Take the gauge pack completely apart. Also known as remove the traction control button and the 12V plug in. Now that we've sanded it's time for the second coat Now once that coat dries I'll post some pictures of how it looks and then decide if I need another coat or not. I'll update in about 45 minutes if anyone is anxiously awaiting. |

I've tried but can't get my plastic part. Where are the clips that hold it in, or where did you seperate it? Thanks

What clips are you talking about? The ones that hold it in place? To take it out you just pry up the front and pull. It pops off nice and easy.
