Thanks for the info very helpful,

I may have understated my problem, shake and vibration is quite severe also sounds like something is broke in trans, almoat like it is between gears. Bad enough that I cannot drive car.

Thanks
Brian

No disrespect but read this from "Banshee" on this thread.

I think you have the same problem I had. I installed mine yesterday in the rain and cold and was running short on time and was trying to get Brians shifter done because he didn't have a way home if not done. I forgot to torque one hex bolt (out of 2) and it was grinding, vibrating and chattering. We are talking 1 bolt not torqued a total of 360 to 480 degrees. Thats a turn and a half. I removed, reapplied loctite and torqued and the shifter is PERFECT.

The 1-2 are exactly the same as 3-4 and 5-6 for me. I can not tell the difference in shift travel.

However, initially, my reverse was chattering. Then after 1/2 mile, the 1-2 gate started up, then all went to hell. Like I said, I only drove her 1/2 mile but forgot to tighten 1 bolt.

Today. drove her 40 miles..the shifter is perfect. I have well over 200k with Hurst shifters in my Tremec/LS cars..There is no change with this one. In fact, I prefer this one over the others because this is one sexy car.

None taken, any input is helpful in thinking process!!

I did find the source of the problem, the dust boot was not attached properly and was hitting ujount causing vibration in shifter! Easy fix as long as I get secured properly this time, tough location to get at and only able to get one hand up there, at least for me.

Thanks for your help
Brian

I just took mine for a 30 mile ride, mostly highway. I do get a little noise under acceleration but steady cruise and light accel are OK! I guess hot rods do make a little noise now and then!
