Why did you have to put 8grand down. Is it your income?

Am I the only realist here that is thinking wouldn't you figure out financing prior to ordering a car. Did you just assume you would be approved? Not trying to be mean just curious.

Oh, so he used you to get another one on the order sheet. He probably already has another buyer.

I was in a similar situation (a little higher credit score, but not much) and I let my dealer's finance people handle it. They pulled my credit score once and ran my numbers by several banks /credit unions verbally so not to lower my score any more. My best option ended up being GMAC (if you can believe that). I only had 1K down on a 2SS/RS fully loaded.

He's right around that area where "a little higher credit score" can make a big differance. That might of been yours. Also, credit score means nothing without enough income vs debit being good.

I had a lower score, upside down on my trade (by about 1K) and got financing through GMAC at a good rate. Don't stress over it. If you can get it rejoyce, if not, it's not the end of the world.

What kind of rate and monthly payment did you get? If you don't mind me asking?

You mean to tell me gmac financed the car for more than it's worth. That's a hard one to take in this day and age.
