Special Dealer Modifications ?
Anyone know if there will be any special dealer modifications, such as what was done back in the late 60's with Yenko?
Thanks, DSP 68-RS |

We don't 'know' but to say that there won't be any cooperation between aftermarket companies/dealers and Chevrolet would be like saying that the Camaro SS will come with under 300 hp. Its posible because we don't know for sure, but the odds are pretty slim.
There will not be a Yenko though, the name and dealership are now owned by Honda. COPO won't happen either. But there were lots of people who did stuff for the 4th gens.

I'd put money on it that we'll see SLP in on the action.
I'm VERY sure there will be some others too. |

I would be very surprised if GM is unaware of the potential for making an extra buck or 2 by addressing this question...

I think GM should still try to make the car as good as they can though. I'd rather have a warranty and the piece of mind that they've thoroughly tested every square inch of the car, as opposed to a dealer adding on some stuff and possible sacrifice some durability in the long-run.

I have not heard of any dealers yet. I hope to hear some later. The only thing I heard was Saleen's SMS is planning something. But thats about it...

Motion Performance is still around, I think they've already announced on their web site that they are going to be doing packages for the 2010 Camaro. And there are a few dealers/shops that have done things in the past that I feel will do so again.

SLP started out modding Firebirds back in the late 80s, they were called Firehawks. As the company grew, they worked in conjunction with Gm to build later model 4th gen Camaro SS's and Firehawks. They now make all kinds of performance parts for many domestic vehicles. I guarantee they will offer go-fast goodies for the new Camaro.
