I am hoping for a base price (no options) of $44,995 What do you all think?

Well, something they are definately going to have to consider is keeping it competitively priced against all the specialty versions such as SLP, Hennesey, Lingenfelter, Tom Henry etc. If it is priced too high over those vehicles, folks may go with those models instead and the Z might hurt as a result. It will be very interesting to see what happens as far as pricing goes.

Lets see what the Z28 will cost:

TVS 2300 $7,000, plus bigger injectors, better suspension, better exhaust, maybe forged crank and pistons, better rims and bigger tires, more stickers and emblems plus the overwhelming demand for the car (like a ZR1).

I would say this car is going to run in the mid to high fifties

Gotta be mid-high 50s - competitive with GT500 - and initial stock will be sold with additional dealer (market demand!) price hike

Corvette 4LT is $56k
Decent build of a GT500 is $55k
Z28 has to be in this ball park + say 3K dealer "market adjustment" for first 6 months !

Too many folks expecting a very low price here. It will be a premium vehicle.

Waiting to see the weeping and gnashing of teeth when folks see eventual price and then throw a fit if it is too high for them

Here is my opinion on what I would do:

$45k with LS7 or $52k with an LS7 and lots of aluminum and some carbon fiber.

$50k with LSA or $57k with an LSA and lots of aluminum and some carbon fiber.

Just saying I would do either one of those 4. Preferably the lightweight LS7. It would be more in line with the concept of the original Z28, and be a blast to drive.

...... Of-course, I don't see that happening

you do realize there are dealers out there that won't sell above msrp? but for the ones I think that will mark up 3k is very low. dealer here in smithfield nc was charging 10k for a regular camaro. not SS specific. just to order A camaro it was going to cost you 10k on top of MSRP.

LS7 never going to happen. and why do people insist on the price of the lsa being so much higher? it's only 6k more for an LSA from a retailer. it costs GM less then that to make them. not counting other mods that have to be done. but lets just say the 2SS is the start for the Z28. that would put it at 41k just for the engine at that reasoning. now say 7-8k for body and suspension mods plus 3% mark up for profit. . .49k-50k easily done.

If Gm is smart they wont price this car much more than the GT500.

I agree that it will be a premium car, but i dont think chevy is gonna price it in line with a vette... i mean think about it, if you have the coin, would you want a vette or a camaro? dont get me wrong, I LOVE the camaro, but even with the Z/28 label its still not a corvette which the base i think starts around 48k. so for a tricked out Z/28, i could see it at 48k, and thats with ALL the whistles and bells... MAYBE touch 50k, MAYBE. I'M JUST SAYIN!!!!

Any Canadians want to hazard a guess what OUR price will be, and don't just take the exchange rate into account.
JUST POST ACCORDING TO THE RIP OFF FORMULA .
I'm not being negative, just being realistic.

A 2011 Shelby GT500 well equipped is about $63,000CDN as per this build:

^TOO MUCH!

All cars are wayyyy overpriced these days.

35-40k for a new Stang GT/Maro SS. 30k+ for an optioned out LS/LT.

When will the madness end?

I paid $23,500 for my LS, and that's all I'll pay for any car ...
