If you use 8k bulbs you will lose a ton of light. You can mod the projector itself to make that blue light with a 4300 bulb.

Because you do. The higher you go the more useless blue light and less useable white light. That's how HID bulbs are. If you have blue light you don't have white light. That's why factory is 4300 because its the most white and best for visability.

I'll have to agree based on my experience.

I orginally put a set of 8k HID bulbs in my Halogen Housings. They seemed to be better than Halogen but I didn't like how blue they were. It's definately blue enough that someone can tell they are aftermarket.

I ended up going to 6k bulbs and that was a pretty big differnce in the brightness. I didn't realize how much of a difference until I put in the 6k bulbs. Alot of people say 8k has a hint of blue but IMO they are a light blue....not just a hint of blue. To me 6k has a hint of blue.

I then retrofited some projectors in my headlights with 5k lights. WOW! what a world of difference. Mostly because of the projectors but the difference between a projector with 5k vs a HID bulb at 8k (even at 6k).....not even close. The 8k are without a doubt a more dull light. I would never put any 8k bulb in my car again, period.......but that's just me.

keep in mind that different HID manufacturers will have different color variations based on "their own" Kelvin scale.

4300k is actually on the lower end of the color spectrum and has a hint of yellow to it (as you can see in the picture above). I agree that HIDs with more color do lose light projection; like yellow, blue, and purple. Our 6000K and 8000K are actually our most light producing colors

True HID bulbs are 4300k and are the most light producing bulbs. When u get into ebay type bulbs that's true. That's why I only buy philips bulbs and not cheap ones.

BFX , does that kit include 2 HID bulbs or one?? im thinking about the 6000k cause i dont really like the yellow in the 4300k and 8000k is too blue i want a pretty crisp white dont mind a slight hint of blue
