I had a similar hissing from my hose on the Elite can. Strangely I noticed the hose is not perfectly round. I rotated the line about 45 degrees on both fittings and the pitch of the hissing became almost gone. So I recommend giving it a try. I only had to do this in the line from the pcv to the can.

I tried to post this the other day and it didn't stick. I had a similar problem with the hose noise after I did a PCV drill mod. Elite prvides high quality hoses with their catch cans, not just regular vacuum line. I found that rotating the hose 45 degrees on each end (PCV and catch Can ends) the noise changed pitch and was less noticeable. the hoses are not perfectly roud. Their shape affects the hissing noise, so by changing it's bend the noise changes. The noise on mine is almost gone. This is more noticeable if you do the drill mod or have a 2013 or newer v6 model due to the redesign of the PCV orifice size. More flow, more noise.

I don't follow what you mean by turning the hoses 45 degrees? Are you saying to put a twist in the hoses or create an angle with the hose barbs so the hose is not a straight line from the PCV orifice to the catch can fitting?

I think he means just twist the rubber hose on the barb fitting. I've got to give that a try.

I had the same sound initially as well... I tightened these as recommended above (I mean tight) & all hiss is gone!

I rotated the rubber hoses some on the barb fittings and it did reduce the noise a little.

Thanks.

Just about to install mine. I sure hope there isn't an angry little cat living under my hood after this!

Did you get yours installed? Is there hissing? Just curious.

I installed Elite Catchcan about 600 miles ago. I never had any hissing noise at all!

I was curious about how much oil it would catch. Here is a pic. For reference, this is about 1 and a half tablespoons of oil. Just amazing

BTW: I don't know why but each time I upload this photo the forum flips it upside down. Anyhow, you can see the oil regardless.
