if im not mistaken.. long tube headers mean the place where stock cats are is now non existent..

if you want cats.. you will have to weld stock ones on .. or get a high flo catted x pipe..

I would go with catted x pipe for additional gain

if there are no cats on the x pipe.. you will need to have cats installed between the c pipe and headers somehow.. unless they are catted headers

or you can go without cats..

I was told that I could run stock cats with ARH LTs so wouldn't it be the same with Kooks LTs? Admittedly, I don't know how LTs connect to cats. Can u use brackets or do u need to cut and weld?

Don't the LT collectors come right before the cats, whether they are stock cats or high flow cats?

That's what I thought that's why I asked if it was possible to use stock cats or go with high flow cats

Kooks sells LTs that hook up to stock exhaust so I'm assuming that includes stock cats.

Okay guys.. i did the HW for you and i hope it clears things up

as you can see from below and as i said earlier, the location for cats is now non existant.

Below you can see headers with a high flo catted x pipe

So now as you already have an x pipe, and I am imagining you are not going to buy a new one, you can either go cat-less or cut and weld high flow/stock cats to your x pipe.

if you cut and weld, i doubt you can remove them again without the need to weld the piping you removed back on and you would just weaken the pipe.

So IMO buy catted headers with high flow cats like the ARH below and use them with your cat back.

Dont forget the tune to avoid any lights coming on on your dash too.

sigh....

A) factory cats do not bolt up to kooks long tube headers. or ANY longtube header at that.

B) if you want to use your factory cats with your longtubes (i have no clue why you would want to do such a thing though), you will have to put buy a reducer to go from the kooks 3" collector to the 2.5" cat inlet.

C)take off your stock cats... take them to a scrap yard. There are precious metals in it and they will pay you for them. The 2010 camaro has 2 cats and 2 pre cats. I got $100 out of mine. Use that money to buy a set of catted mid pipes from kooks, which will work with your magnaflow xpipe, whether your x-pipe be 2.5" or 3", because kooks offers a mid pipe to connect ot the stock exhaust (2.5") or their catback (3")

If you run catted mid pipes and plug in your rear o2 sensors properly, YOU WILL NOT have a check engine light come on.
