Wind noise?

I just bought a used 2011 vert with 18000 miles and this being my first vert was wondering if the wind noise coming off the back at 60-80 mph was normal I believe it's not just road noise because I can hear it coming in the back and definitely sound like wind hitting it and have had friends while riding in the back comment on it being loud. I have tried to read up on some of the issues others have had and maybe I'm paranoid but I don't even know what number of issues that I see described could be causing it or if the previous owner got any of the fixes I hear talked about on here?

I have the exact same issue. It is almost as if the window is cracked in the back or something. Unfortunately there is nothing GM can really do about it without making it worse.

When it comes to "Fixing" it, sometimes when I cycle the top the wind noise is less. Sometimes when it rains and top drys it fits tighter with less wind noise. All I can say is, as long as your top doesn't leak, I wouldn't let GM touch it unless they are 100% sure they can fix it.

If it completely bothers you to the point where you must have it fixed, I would take it to a professional shop that specializes in convertibles.

There is a tsb to address wind noise. I had it done about a year ago and it made a difference. The info should be in this forum somewhere, so read up on it.

Have a dealer check your VIN # to confirm that the top enhancements for the 2011-2012 convertible (bulletin #12052) has been performed on your car. This corrects two major issues with the top -- one of them being excessive wind noise.

See this thread for more details:

Post #16 has a copy of the TSB attached.

Yes, just had it done last week. No more road noise, no complaints.

I must have a really good top as the wind noise has NEVER been a problem.

I only notice it at highway speeds and it almost seems like the wind is collecting on the back part of the top and making it vibrate
