Not laughing at you, just felt good finding out I wasnt the only one that has done that very same thing. Yup, first time I ever confessed that in public too.

I ran the car with the new oil filter but old oil for a few minutes. Think it's ok to still be my new filter?

you should be fine

Well just drove it for half hour, oil pressure was good, everything seemed completely normal. I'm guessing if I did something wrong I would have noticed by now. Thanks again for all the help. Is there anything else I should check or do at 5k miles now?

differential fluid should be changed. if not changed befor. other then that your good. I recommend after the 1st 500 miles on the diff fluid. its metallic black by 500 during break in.

When I normally get a "full service oil change" they are supposed to inspect a bunch of other stuff. I guess that's mostly brakes and fluid levels, which everything is good at 5k miles right, looks fine to me. Just wanna make sure there's nothing I need to grease etc, haha. I'm comparing to my tractor with the greasing

nothing greasable everythings sealed. you should change the diff fluid. you will need the hand pump. if you have a limited slip diff you will need limited for it. takes 1qt 75w90 and 3oz of limited slip fluid. pull the fill plug 1st. takes a 3/8 rachet only. the ratchet will fit the plug no socket.

So what I would like to know is did you add engine oil to the tranny? Or did you drain the tranny and overfill the engine oil?

Had a friend who decided to change the oil on his Porsche. He got a phone call while in the process and ended leaving a shop rag on the engine. The result was an engine fire. Makes the $69 look cheap for a dealership oil change.

I like to place the new bottles of 75w90 in a pan of boiling water for about 15 minutes. It makes it so much easier pumping the high viscosity lubricant in.

I am real happy everything turned out great. Did not cost you an arm and a leg......

Is it just me or is it seemingly impossible to read the dipstick after changing the oil? I know I have 6 qts in, but I can't look at the dipstick and say here's the top mark exactly. I'm confident it's in a good region, I just wish I could actually see an oil line. Any tips?

It is hard. Here is a tip: put some baby power on the end, this will help.
