What !?!?

I just went to Autotrader.com and I looked at the new Camaros and I have one thang to ask. Why are the used Camaros selling for $45,000 to $50,000?

Because people are morons and they think they can make a quick buck by robbing some desperate soul.

Hold tight 6 or 8 months. They will come off that. Supply is not keeping up with demand yet.

Some people just need to be the first on the block to have something. Don't you remember new PS3's going for $2400 on ebay for a few weeks after they were released? The WII was selling for around $1000.

Doesn't make a bit of sense to me, but if someone is willing to pay that amount, there will always be people willing to sell.

Whatever the market will bear!

I would never overpay for any car. I canlive with sticker, but the mark-up stuff (while completely legal) is something of which I would never be a part.

To be honest, If someone dropped by my house and offered me more than I paid for the car, It would be Bye Bye!

I can always get another one.

once the supply hits the demand.... those prices will go down... its just people trying ot make money because they can sell someone a car on the spot... but if hte person ordered it, they would be waiting quite a few months for it... and some rich people dont wanna wait, so they will just buy one way over sticker like that

How is this robbery? I don't guess you'd turn a profit on anything if the market was there?

Right, but i'm assuming no one is buying them, the sellers are morons if you think someone will actually buy them for that price. Look on ebay, no one is paying that kind of money for a camaro.

My buddy has had a yellow 2SS/RS 6M and an IOM 2SS/RS 6M and sold them for 42K and 45K. He is a car dealer and has no problem selling something for a nice profit. He loved the cars and put between 1,000 and 2,500 miles on them before selling them so he had the best of both worlds. It's the old supply vs demand, right now if you have lots of $ and little patience you can have a new Camaro otherwise your like most of the rest of us and have to wait!

Asking price vs. true selling price

You are seeing the asking price for these cars, not the true selling price. See the clip below of completed eBay auctions for 2010 Camaros - you'll see cars that have actually sold range from $29k to $44k. This clipping is only showing a few closed auctions but there are many more. Look for yourself.

Definitely a lot of bid activity which shows the Camaro is a very hot commodity.
