Who will cancel their order?

Will you cancel with the projected production delay and news of how they are going to allocate the V6 vs. the V8?

List the model, final cost, and deposit down.

That's a terrible idea. We all waited for this car. Why would we cancel for a delay? That would make all of this anticipation a waste of time.

I would agree....we have come this far....you might as well wait a little longer and see how things shake out.

NATIONAL ENQUIRER ALERT!

Let's wait and hear from more credible sources before we even go there. I saw NO reason to panic from what I heard in the IDL.

I'd also question the accuracy of what has been posted today. Because I really didn't come out it the same way....

Christ almighty...

IT'S ONE MONTH PEOPLE! WOULD YOU RATHER HAVE A HALF-BAKED CAR THAT GM RUSHED INTO PRODUCTION BECAUSE PEOPLE WHINED ABOUT THE DELAY, OR DO YOU WANT A CAR THAT WILL PROVIDE YOU WITH YEARS OF TROUBLE-FREE DRIVING?

I'd like to remind everyone of what happened the last time an automaker rushed a vehicle into production...cracked tailgates...snapping camshafts...that automaker was toyota, the vehicle was the tundra, and it still is the laughing stock of the truck world.

It's only one month for the V6 crowd and 30% of the SS orders. For the rest, it's as long as it takes to make them, if the assumptions are true.

That being said, I'd be bummed, but not canceling. It accomplishes nothing, unless your personal situation dictates that you planned your life on your pre-order being delivered around a certain day, in which case you're kinda naive.

Also disclaimer, I'm a vert hold-out specialist...so I'm one of the ones who (sorta) got some good news today (a date, albeit forever away).

Funny how this exact thread title shows up monthly these days.

I'm not going to cancel my order as I am buying the car because I want the car...no need for me...this is a pleasure purchase!

Only thing that bummed me out today was the time frame for making SS cars...seems it was pushed a lot...at least to me. That and whether or not all SS cars will be made this year that folks had laid money down for...but that really hasn't been answered as I don't think anyone knows for sure.

The first month or two will be V6 only I'd say but after that if you are in the top 33% of SS's ordered at your dealer I think you'll get your car this year (before Oct 09). The rest though I think will get pushed.

Huh? I thought everyone loved their Japanese cars and trucks and bragged about how their quality was second to none! Maybe the great liberal democratic press did'nt bother to mention these issues. Wow...a misinformed public! How could that happen?

If my car is at the end of the run I might cancel it and wait for the vert. I'm not about to pick up a car and put it into winter storage. But cancel the car....NO.
I just hope this does'nt pump up the mustang sales due to people switching over to have a convertible right now. Unfortunately however...it does put the Chevrolet dealers in the same situation as the ford dealers were with the GT500. They might start putting $20,000 ADM on the SS, or holding out to sell them on Epay to the highest dummy.

That's going to be the problem with making V6s first for the guys wanting the V8...Adjusted Market Value!

While those of us who have cars ordered and have it in writing for MSRP...we'll get the last allocations of the year while "Johnny" can walk in and slap $10K over MSRP on his new Camaro SS!!

...and don't tell me all the dealers out there are going to honor their deposit orders first...they too are in the business of making money and if they can make more...they will! Pretty easy to tell someone we didn't get a V8 allotment and then order what they want and say...we didn't have one, GM sent it to us!
