Hard Water Spot Removal w/ Vinegar
Yesterday at work, I parked next to a curb that I forgot has water sprinklers that come on. 8 hours later, I come to my car and it is filled with water spots that wouldn't come off rubbing with detail spray. So this morning, quick run to Walmart, I get vinegar and mix it 50/50 with water, started with a smaller area, then worked my way up. This stuff works, I was in a panic not knowing if it would or not, spending all night googling solutions. In the process I ordered Chemical Guys EcoSmart-RU after I seen a YouTube vid of them removing hard water, gas, etc from road.. So I'll give that a try on my wrapped hood when it gets here b/c it has waterspots as well. Here are a few before/after pics. I may get good/bad news from using vinegar but I needed a quick solution until proper cleaning.

Vinegar works very well for removing water spots because it is acidic. It will strip pretty much all wax/sealants or other forms of protection on the paint though, but as long as you wipe it all off it shouldn't cause any harm.

Yep vinegar and water will work well but you will need to wax your Camaro once you do that because it will strip whatever wax is there already but vinegar and water wont harm your paint or clearcoat.

The vinegar works good but not in all types of hard water stains.

Key thing here is that you didn't wait long before correcting. People that wait a week with the spots will be in some trouble.

Yes I'm glad I got to it as fast as I could and was surprised how well it worked. Now waiting on the chemical guys ecosmart-ru spray. It's supposedly a wax, clay and detailer spray. Going to try and get the rest of the spots that are on my vinyl hood. I'll let you guys know how that goes!
