Interesting Situation - Camaro5 Chevy Camaro Forum / Camaro ZL1, SS and V6 Forums

So my whole situation is as follows...I was originally told by a family member and a few other salesmen (including the one I wound up going with) that the weight time was going to be a little bit for these cars. So knowing when I wanted to have mine by (mid Feb) I went in at what I thought was the right time and placed my initial order and placed a deposit. Salesman told me that they were actually getting them in in half the time they are telling their customers (why they would tell them that, I don't know, seems like it would drive away business). So we held off going for allocation. Now the first week of December was suppose to be my week of allocation. Well as of now the salesman just called me and after talking to his sales manager and the regional rep, since the dealer got a ton of allocations over the good weather months, they figured they would distribute the allocations to further south dealers instead since it is winter weather up here. So now the regional rep got a hold of me today and told me he is fighting to get an allocation to this dealer ASAP so 1) I don't have to leave my salesman who besides this mess has been great. and 2) So I can get my car on time! Just thought I'd share my frustration.

Ya, it's tough in the winter states on timing when to order your ride. Hope they scrounge one up for you and get it in.

Just visited my local dealer in No. Utah last night (he has two SSs on the floor still) and my salesman ensures me allocations are not an issue for them. I'm looking to order in Feb and he stated an "advertised" 6-8 week lead but that they typically are delivering sooner than that. GL MJ.

Yeah come Feb you should be past all constraints so that's a pretty accurate lead time.

There are at least 60 currently available between just two of the dealers here in Buffalo as we speak. My guess is that if your allocation does get pushed back, it really won't be that hard to find what you want in February anyways if you look around.

Yeh, I'd still prefer to order one, but I'm sure finding one will not be a problem.
