Cadillac swap.

Will this be possible? looks like they took the lfx and added turbos / new heads.

Don't know yet. It uses a different ECU than us from what I understand, so that may make it difficult. I'm hoping that's not true.

Even if it uses a diff ecu if you had a complete donnor car why not take it all? Wiring ecu etc....

If the ecu controls the dash cluster than I would completely understand.

Unfortunately, all the controllers have to "sync" up. I don't think the BCM for the caddy will work on our cars, and I don't think you will be able to sync a different ECU with our BCM without a lot of work. I wish it was easy...if it were then I would have just taken the ECU from a LFX and put it in my old LLT (missing the green).

I agree with gretchen. This is not as easy as a simple swap.

Also, that engine is much more than an LFX with turbos strapped on. Yes it originated from the LFX and shares a lot but there are some new or stronger components there compared to the LFX.

That thing will be a beast with a tune.

10-4 on syncing up the ecm and bcm. I figured that is what pushed you into the lfx. Of all the efi into carb bodys I have done we never had anything fancy for a dash. Just old analog gauges which don't care.

Hell swap a motor in these new cars and your windows might not roll up and down when your done.

Might as well swap for a huge crate motor then.

as more details come out on the 2T V6, it will use a hitachi fuel injection system and has two air sensors as well as controls each turbo seperate to each bank of 3 cyls.

They say 90% new content. The crank is the same as the LFX but the new has better crank end caps, rods, pistons and metal head gaskets. Heads were reworked to handle EGR/PCV from boosting and incorporate better water jacket cooling into the head.... it goes on and on...

They also mate it up with an 8 speed auto that has improved hardened gears and a beefed up torque converter.

In other words...its a beast. The 420 or so HP/TQ it is making in the CTS is likely barely scratching the surface of what it can do. I'm really looking forward to seeing what kind of power the give it in the ATS-V...hopefully closer 450 or more HP/TQ, but its definitely capable of well past that I'm sure.

Can't wait to see the first one. I'm wonder what we can learn and apply to our motors.

I'm curious about the bi-metal pistons... should provide much better detonation resistance without heavy weight increases.

I'm also curious to see (if the LFX doesn't have them already) if they have added items like oil squirters below the pistons.
