Best Way to take off?
Lets say on a roll around 50/60/70 miles would it be better to drop gears on M mode or just floor the peddle while on Drive?
and if i did drop the gear's to take off with my paddle shift, how low should I drop it to?

Just floor it, unless you really wanna use the paddles, in the low 60s I'd say drop into third gear if you really wanna use the paddles

u can still floor it in manual mode, just make sure u shift to the next gear at around 4000 or u risk redlining it

Lol ^
drop it low as it will go -- 50 is probably 3rd, go a lil slower and go from 2nd gear... and of course dont forget to shift or it will fell like a wall shift before redline about 200-500rpms before. Hope that helped

OMG, don't be one of those guys that drops it to second going to fast and throw the passenger through the front windshield. I have been in too many friends cars when they "attempt" the ol "go to 2nd to launch" while going to fast. freakin' whiplash!

I'm confused by this talk about 'manual mode' and 'paddles'... are we talking about Camaros or defibrillators?

For those who want to have more control over the driving experience, without having to go full manual tranny, it is there. I have tried it and for me it is like playing PS3 driving games and using the R1 or R2 buttons. Without the clutch to depress and the shifter to slide into another gear, it does not feel right to me.

on the V6 M6, at 50 I drop into 3rd to pass to get quickly up to left lane speed. I can't speak for the paddle shifting. might be best to try it on an clear road before doing it in heavy traffic. As previously mentioned, never go to 2nd at that speed

So as far as flooring it & downshifting, there wouldn't be a big difference?

I think the better question is, Have you not driven your car enough to try these in normal driving situations? You don't want to have some Mustang come up on you, and you putter out when trying to look all bad ass. Just go try some different scenarios, and see what works best for you.

Huh? You can rev the A6 to above that just sitting in park. It will be just fine. However, I would not be shifting down to 2nd at 60mph as it's a waste and you will going to 3rd before you blink with the hammer down.
