I'd consider velcro but the front of the car is pretty pointy to attach a flat plate to. Someone folded their plate but that looked worse than anything I've seen so far. And there are so many angled lines on the front that it's really hard to imagine it looking good off-center from all the photoshop trials I've done.

Here's a problem

not sure if it has been discussed. Auto or Manual place holder that goes under car....how will this fair with the ground FX? I am afraid that having my GFX will hold the plate out to far and wind normal outdoor hazards will wind up hurting the car it being so far out. I told the dealer not to put the plate on and they did not so i am looking at other options...tape is one of them for now for inspection!!!!! Any one with GFX work around this possible problem?

If you get caught

Double sticky velcro and after they inspect off comes the plate until next time. SWEET.

But I live in Cali and they require the front license plate to be attached. For those that live where they mandate this what do yo plan on doing? I've heard of people creating a hide-a-plate, sounds too complicated to me, I'm a simple man. LOL........... But what other options are there other than flat out being stubborn and not putting it on and just begging to be pulled over?
I am just leaving mine off and if I get a ticket, I get a ticket. I don't have on on my mustang either, I've gotten numerous tickets for it in the mustang but I won't put it on. It's only a fine and no points so it wont affect your insurance.

Anyone know what the fine in Ontario is and if you have to fix it or just have to pay?

Don't know about Ontario, but in MD the fine is $60 and you just pay it. You don't have to prove that you put it on the car. I average one ticket a year on my mustang for the front plate, so to me, that's not bad.

But what about the military people who are stationed here, but claim their home residence (and have their cars licensed in) a state that doesn't require front plates? I've seen cars on base that don't have front plates, but for the most part, I think they have a DoD windshield decal. I know a few years ago everyone used to have these decals, but they no longer made it a requirement to have them on your car, because of security reasons. (People could target cars in public that had the DoD window decal, and potentially use that as a way to get access on base).

I live in Missouri, and don't care so much about the cops pulling me over for not having a front plate, if they even make a big deal about it around here. I'll pay the fine and go on. I would rather do that than ruin the look of such a beautiful car once I get it.

The only thing that I do care about is being able to get on base without a front plate, because that's where I work, as a DoD civilian. Kinda gotta go there, because no work, no Camaro. :(
When you are in the Military you are capable of having your car registered to the state of your Home of Record or the State you live in. If your home State does not require a front plate, they cannot make you put it on. The Gate Security does check the back plate on cars that don't have front plates because they are mostly verifying that the car has not expired plates. My car has been registered to Vermont since 1999, when I get my next car, I will register it to Vermont as well. Prevents me from having to ever change my registration until I separate from the Air Force and local law enforcement probably doesn't know or care that Vermont requires a front plate.

As for you as a DoD Civilian, go ahead and don't put the plate on. I imagine that they won't say anything as I have seen cars here on Sheppard (TX) registered to Texas (requires front plate) without a front plate on base.

I've had my Camaro for just over a month and have already been pulled over twice for not displaying the front license plate. Received one verbal warning and one written warning. I really don't want to put it on, but I'm starting to think that I will have to. It must be because they notice the 5th Gen more because my neighbor has driven his Camry for 3 yrs without a front plate and has never had any problems with law enforcement.

The "bacon" is jealous that they themselves aren't driving such an amazing car, so use that as any excuse to pull you over. Plus, it's +1 for them with their "bacon" buddies when they're telling each other the stories of the "cool" cars they've pulled over.

RPI Designs makes a front "hide away" plate.

The one I have clamps on to the grill (fron and back), with a plate in the front to screw in the license plate.
On request, I told my dealer I would be installing an aftermarket plate holder, so they didn't drill holes into my bumper.
