Yea but we were so lucky with the cool front that came through the day after....
when Alisha came through in 83' we had no power for 14 days with 180% humidity and 99 deg ........ :(

We were without power for over 2 weeks and we were among the lucky in our town. Our town was hit the hardest except for right along the coast lines and New Orleans!! Our whole town was devastated. We were lucky and had very minimal damage, but it was really bad here. I sure hope we never see another Hurricane anywhere like Katrina!!

Yeah....it really sucked that New Orleans got all the attention. Don't get me wrong it was bad on them from the flooding, but it was also ridiculous that so many chose to stay given the circumstances. The devastation to the Mississippi Gulf Coast was unreal. There were whole towns totally wiped out! I mean everything and everyone gone and some of the little towns probably won't come back, as a town anyway. It was weird when we drove down to the coast to get some generators from another dealer. I kept waiting to see the horror of it and could only stare in amazement that we were worse than everything I saw and 1.5 hrs. inland. Of course, we didn't go all the way to the coastline. It was definitely worse there. There weren't even roads in places.

I thought Hurrican season was over.....I should have known better. Only in Mississippi can you get snow the 1st of April and Hurricane's (not the good drinking kind!!) for Christmas!!!
