What music do you prefer while driving?
Personally, I generally like more southern rock style music (though oddly enough, not much actual southern rock). I like rocking out to Disturbed or Metallica around the house, but if I'm going for a long drive, they just don't really fit. I want some stuff that is a bit slower and a bit calmer (I'll often pop in an Audioslave disc), music thats not as intense as metal tends to be. Airborne, AC/DC, Theory Of A Deadman, and Kid Rock rarely leave my car. Don't get me wrong, there's still plenty of songs that make me want to get up on the wheel and wish the speed limit was merely a suggestion, but for most highway cruising I'll shy away from the more aggressive stuff.
How about you folks?

I'm much more of a country gal myself....but I will listen to just about anything....as long as it has a good beat and I can understand the lyrics...
Probably for my hour long drive home it will be mostly country scattered with a little KISS...some oldies thrown in...hip hop...little of this ....little of that....anything to keep me awake... But...to each their own.... |

It really depends on my mood.On my phone I have everything from Iron Maiden to A Tribe called Quest to Hooverphonic to Frank Sinatra and everything in between.I don't really like country ,but when I do listen to it,I only like really old country. The new stuff just sounds like B rate late 70's early 80's southern rock. That's just my opinion,so if you think I am wrong , well, I probably am.
Dmiller66 : Does plantation High still have their kickass radio station ? I believe it was 88.9 . It's been ten years since I've been to Florida .

I burn my own cds. I mostly listen to current pop music/hip hop music. But my heart belongs to 80's heavy metal: AC/DC, Def Leppard, Quiet Riot, Cinderella, White Snake, etc.

My musical tastes vary but this is what I listen to most ofthe time while cruising.
Metallica (Master of Puppets & Justice albums mainly) Nickleback, Bad Company, Motley Crue, Golden Earring, Bruce Springsteen, Alice in Chains, Pearl Jam & 3 Doors Down. I know you asked for type and not particular bands but I felt the need to list some of the bands I tend to listen to |
