Will 2014 SS Hood insert fit to my 2013 SS Hood??

I want to know if I buy the hood insert from the 14 SS hood and have a body shop cut the hole will they be able to place the insert properly?

Anything is possible with enough money. The question you should be asking is how much.

if you are doing that, why not get the TL1 insert from ACS, exact replica of the ZL1 insert, and its functional, comes with a guide, etc.

Good question. I was thinking of swapping out hoods completely...Still haven't heard if that can be done....Might be about the same cost as installing one...

There are plenty of aftermarket hood vents and all....So don't see why the '14 couldn't be done as well...

this...unless you dont like the look.

mine is very functional...at traffic lights i can see heat just pouring out of it. havent made to many high speed runs with it to know if it really helped remove some lift but i dont see why it wouldnt.

I've heard the V6 hoods will swap but the SS hoods won't swap. Different hood to nose and hood to cowl area.

Thanks for all the feed back i'm more interested in the one on the 14 the dealer told me it would be $128 for the piece, What should I expect from a body shop price wise to cut and install it?

128 for just the exterior piece i assume. what about the underside? is there any trim or anything that attaches under the hood? i have yet to see an underhood shot of a 14'

actually i found this pic...

so will it include this water deflector and hardware too?

and from the looks of it the hood is formed to accomidate that vent. so its not exactly gonna be a bolt on. gonna require some cutting and drilling depending on how it actually attaches to the hood.

Hmmm... Didn't think about that lol? Well the dealer just said that it comes with sheet metal flanges, retainers that fit under the bottom side. So do you think it'll be a good fit? What issue might I run into? AND thanks for the picture also by the way I have a 13 SS if that matters
