Autocross in Stratford CT - August 10

I know it is short notice, but I wanted to throw this out there just in case anyone was looking for something to do this weekend. Fairfield County Sports Car Club is hosting an Autocross event in Stratford CT this weekend (August 10th). I'm going to post the event details below, but if anyone is interested in going post it up here and we can finalize a meeting place if other people are interested in going.

If you want to pre-register for the event click here. You will get the best rate which is only $40 for non members. Just like the other Autocross events they have loaner helmets that you can use so all you have to do is bring your car and $40 for a fun filled day. If you have any questions let me know.

Fees:
Cost for participants who pre-register is $30 for FCSCC members and $40 for non-members. It is optional to pre-pay here but highly encouraged as it will help save time the day of the event. If space is available, same-day registrations at the event are $40 for members and $50 for non-members. You may join FCSCC at the event and receive the member's discount. Membership fees are $35 (Individual) or $45 (family).

Event Schedule:

7:45am - 9:00am: Event Registration and Check in

8:00am - 9:30am: Tech inspection

9:30am: Rookie Walkthrough

9:45am: Drivers Meeting

10:00am: First car off!

Logistics:
- Stratford Army Engine Plant (SAEP) North lot (directions are listed below)
- Registration will open at 7:45 AM and closes at 9:15 AM - late arrivals will be accepted at event chairs discretion.
- A very limited number of loaner helmets are available, so if you have your own helmet, please bring it.
Helmets meeting the following standards must be worn while on course: All helmets meeting the current or two immediately preceding (i.e., 2000 or later) Snell Foundation standards (SA, K, or M), or SFI standards 31.1A, 31.2A, 41.1A, or 41.2A are acceptable. Helmets meeting British spec BS6658-85 type A/FR are also acceptable. DOT-rated-only helmets are not acceptable, and will be impounded for the duration of the event.
- Portable toilet facilities are available on site (restaurants and gas stations with facilities are also available near the site).

Weather:
This is an outdoor event that will run until late afternoon. Autocross events are normally rain or shine, but in case of severe weather an update will be e-mailed to all pre-registered participants. Any important updates will also be posted on the FCSCC web site http://www.fcscc.com and the FCSCC Autocross Hotline (203-520-9006)

Directions to Stratford SAEP North lot:

From Route 95 Northbound
I-95 to Stratford exit 30 for Lordship Blvd., right at end of ramp.
After about 1 mile, bear left onto Access Road at stoplight (not right to airport).
At tee, turn left onto Main Street.
Entrance to lot is on your right. Use gate for DeLuca Memorial Softball Field.

From Route 95 Southbound
I-95 to Stratford exit 30 for Surf Avenue, left at end of ramp.
At stoplight, turn left onto Lordship Blvd.
After about 1 mile, bear left onto Access Road at stoplight (not right to airport).
At tee, turn left onto Main Street.
Entrance to lot is on your right. Use gate for DeLuca Memorial Softball Field.

Do you know if spectators are allowed to hang around with the drivers? if so i'm in, to watch lol

Yes. If you get there before the first car sets off just tell the person at the gate that you are "crew". They will then let you sign the waiver and you will be allowed beyond the gate where all of the cars are staging. If you get there later in the afternoon they may not let you go behind the gate but you can definately see all of the action no matter where you are.

Looks like SlakJak is on the list as going. Beiry are you going to be there?

Only 14 hours left to register for the discounted rate. As of right now it looks like Beiry is registered and SlakJak is going. If anyone else is interested the non member rate is only $40 if you register by the end of the day.

If you don't register by the end of the day but you still want to come you are more than welcome. The rate does go up to $50 for day of registrations.
