I think the "Z" and the "L" letters should have a mirror finish on the steering wheel and maybe the "1" should be reflective as well.
Yep pic 2 looks real good

The wheels AND tires together weigh less than the wheels & tires on the SS.....22lbs less total.

Chevy has said "A deliberate effort was made to control mass". Will it be lighter than an SS? I think it's safe to say NO WAY. But if they're serious about the "deliberate effort", I don't see why they can't keep the total weight below 4,000lbs.

Do you mean the ZR1? If so, to answer your question, no the magnetic suspension doesn't make the Z06 cost $100,000. The price for the 3 Z06 trim packages range from $75,000 to $82,000. The "Z06 (Z07) Ultimate Performance Package" costs $10,000 and gives you the following options (copied from Chevy.com):

• Brembo® carbon-ceramic brakes with Gray metallic calipers (similar to those offered on the ZR1®)
• Magnetic Selective Ride Control
• Enhanced cooling
• Michelin® Pilot® Sport PS2™ tires
• 20-spoke Competition Gray wheels (19" x 10" front, 20" x 12" rear)

I don't care if the hood weighs 2lbs, it's still, IMO, a detraction from the car. Functional or not, it looks out of place with the rest of the vehicle.

I, respectfully, disagree. I think the hood is a good addition to the ZL1. If you've ever owned a supercharged vehicle you know that engine bay heat is your enemy.

For those that haven't ridden in a ZR1 (I'm lucky enough that my pops has one), it has a 6-setting PTM system which is KILLER. It totally changes the personality of the car. I'm too lazy to look for a link for more info right now... but it's great for tearing up the track because it allows you to dial in exactly how invasive you want the system to be and how many nannies are barking at you... from full TC/AH (wet) to no TC but AH on, etc.
Had a chance to take one out for about 30min - abso sick..

Seriously? You'd think I'd know that.

To the point, I know that the hood is functional and has a purpose. That doesn't make it any less appealing to me. For the record, I don't especially like the heat extractor design on my GT500 either, but it looks more intergated to the rest of the car than the hood on the ZL1 does. Again, just my opinion. I'm not looking for you or anyone else to agree with me.

I apologize for not looking at your profile vehicle. No need to be a smart ass though.

Guess I'm the only one that isn't awestruck. Not a fan of the hood or the steering wheel.
