CAI cai install question

Installed a cai from CAI and everything looked to fit great until I put the lid on it. Should there be a gap between the top and the car like this?

Should be a nice tight fit with no gap between the lid and the inner fender. I just installed mine today (see below).

Mine is being delivered tomorrow. What kind of tools will I need? Is there a DIY thread?

It's all in the link Skizioli provided. However, you will also need a medium flat tip screwdriver and/or a 5/16 nut driver to loosen/tighten the hose clamps, as well as a nice sharp knife to cut the new crankcase vent line hose to length.

One tip: when you install the MAF Sensor onto the new intake tube, make sure the airflow arrow is pointing in the right direction (toward the engine). This is also a good opportunity to check to see if you have a weak or strong MAF.

There are threads discussing the MAF.

Does the CAI improve gas mileage ? And on average from personal experience home much?

From what I've read/heard, it should help some with MPGs.

I've only had my Camaro a little over a month and my CAI a little over a week - still having too much fun puttin' my foot in the pedal to get any kind of accurate positive MPG estimate. These cars were built to run and it's very hard to hold them back!

I do believe the engine has a little more guts though, especially the response to higher speed acceleration, unless it's just the improved sound that makes it seem that way.
