Fosgate T1000 vs JL HD1200

So I am buying all the parts of my new system online. Today everything came in however the JL HD 1200 amp I ordered was apparently on back order. So I need an amp.

I called around and I can find the JL HD1200 amp locally for $100 over what I paid online; however a local shop said they had a Fosgate T1000 amp that will be just as good if not better.

The Fosgate amp is a bit cheaper so I'm considering it but I wanted to know if anyone had feedback for me regarding these two amps to push 2 x JL Audio 12W6 speakers.

I have 2 RF T Series amps, and they sound very clear, and come with a birth certificate usually giving 15-20% more RMS power than rated.

I previously had a T1000-1bdCP pushing my 2 x 13w6v2's and it pounded. The T1000-1bdCP is plenty of amp for 2 x 12w6's. The T1000-1bdCP I had gave a birth sheet number of 1562W @ 1 ohm (it was 1400+ at 2 ohms). That's more than enough to push the 12w6's.

I think the Power Series amps are as good as any I have ever used - tons of clean power. You'll get more power out of the T1000 as you can run it at 1 ohm - the HD1200/1 is only stable down to 1.5 ohms, but it has the bonus of putting out that 1200W at 4 ohms as well.

Bottom line - T1000-1bdCP is a very acceptable substitute.

Back in the day (80's) I had some serious Fosgate in my car.

I wondered if they are still as good as they were then... Seems like folks to in other directions these days. I don't see or hear many Fosgate car systems.

Rockford Fosgate is still definitely a very good performer even today . I have a Rockford powered subwoofer and I love it . They have some of the best components for your money that you can buy today .
