Daaammmmmnnnnnn , it's getting close...

I just got off the phone with Corey... anticipation was killing me... sorry...

Narc, the mechanic, is putting plugs in the car and adding fluids... Corey said they were working late and he wasn't leaving tonight until she was started...

He has to do some adjustments to the program due to the up-sized injectors, but there it is... psssssstttttttttttTTTTTTTWhhhaaaaaaa is on the way...

Corey said the build has gone together really smoothly... which was nice...

He is planning on driving it around tomorrow as he can, and the next day, doing the street tuning and getting miles on the motor and clutch, and then he'll strap her down and do some easy pulls... drive it some more, and progress up...

If I misunderstood any of this, forgive me, It is a bit of a long distance call and a satellite connection to boot...

Jeeeze,

I don't remember this picture being taken, but this was the day before I left to come to Brazil. We were replacing the differential bushings and preparing to install the new delrin bushings... There were a couple of tiny nicks (my doing, and not to be confused with Nicks) in the aluminum, so I was buffing them out... Yes, I live in South Central Texas, it was a skosh warm that day...

Unlike Merc, I didn't need to wear a jacket to work...

For any of you that live in the Carolina's, thats my Greensboro Grasshoppers hat one of my sons gave me from when he was playing professional baseball... Now he is coaching and teaching private lessons in the Austin area. I Love having him back around the house...

Here is a pic of the driveshaft loop...

A quick comment about this... Corey said that when they were removing the bolts from the driveshaft, one of them was barely more than finger tight...

With the number of bolts that have been reported to be broken or twisted out, I highly recommend that you check yours soon. In a lot of cases of bolt on mods, where the drive train is barely touched, if at all, you may be creating a monster...

It only takes a few minutes, and the correct tip for the bolt. These are brand new ones, and I'll have my old ones with me at the Fest, but we are looking for some ARP bolts to replace these with...

If a bolt like this isn't properly torqued, then all of the roataional force is applied laterally to the bolt, and they are not designed to take that force... If they are properly torqued, then the friction between the bolted surfaces takes most of the stress, like a clutch and pressure plate... the bolts are the pressure plate... Not enough force, and you get slippage, and therefore lateral stress and broken bolts...

My new MagnaFlow exhaust with three inch pipe all the way from the back side of the turbo's and straight through mufflers. . That is a relatively new high-tech drone killing wrap they put on them... It's easier than using the Helmholtz chambers...

I kid, I kid... actually the Turbo's are the best mufflers known to man.. slicing and dicing the exhaust sound impulses into millions of little bits... It should sound killer, but it will not be loud... well not too loud... The voice of 800 plus HP vehicle screaming along near 7000 RPM isn't going to remain unheard for long, and if the car isn't loud enough, you'll probably hear me giggling, or screaming in terror, every time I hammer it...
