Thanks for showing me that. I would be fine with these being conservative estimates, which they usually are. That 120ft number really surprises me. It makes their claim of the 6th gen SS being faster on track than a 1LE much more believable.

omg my brother with its AMG said perhaps for chevy it would be a practical way for fighting the GT350 by simply buying some AMG 6.2ltr. engines with 525hp and put them into a stock SS chassis.
hmmm.

Exactly, better power to weight, brakes as good or better, with slightly less grip due to the RFTs. Enough to make it faster, but probably not much faster.

Yes.

It is surprising however it is not on par with this new Camaro. I know this because I sell them for a living.

The MPH is the key here... the Challenger and Mustang will get the walk.

And who would think he would start doing Mopar stuff as well? Hah!

If I end up with the 16 SS I might steal the 461 out of his C7 and hope he doesn't notice!

or they could just do a head/cam upgrade on the lt1 and make 525+ hp....probably a bit cheaper....

edit: Oh yeah. DiabloSport's CMR costs $2,500+

.... nevermind

Not to mention fitting under the hood and probably weigh less.

A designer for Jaguar said he was jealous of the C7 Corvettes low profile thanks to the fact GM still utilizes a pushrod V8.

No matter which you pick, the 2015 GT is at least half a sec slower than the A8 6th gen. GM's times have been accurate if not too conservative in the past.
I'm just trying to figure out why all of this matters to so many people. Compare 2015 to 2015 and the Mustang is faster and no I don't want to hear about a 1LE being a second ahead around a go kart track. I've been a gmfanboy for quite a while and have owned my share of F-Bodies (30+) but this is the first time since 2010 that the Camaro has been faster. In all honest the S550 GT is a different calibration away from 450hp.

The 2016 Camaro might mark my return to GM products so I'd hope GM's numbers are spot on.

I like the Scat Packs cars, might even get a Charger one, but physics and facts are the 6th gen will be faster in independent testing. The 8 speed and power to weight advantage over the 5th gen doesn't exist anymore.
How do you know it will be faster it might be slower those time might have been the best time over a period of time perfect condition. I think the number will be more like 12.5 as the car is tested it will never see 11 stock.
