exactly.

my C6 (possibly the most inefficient transmission in the world) and 9" rear end on my galaxy probably loses in the 20% range. No way a modern car does.

If thats true, then the major loss issue must be in the IRS no?

It looks like the admin messed up and put 72rwhp instead of 45rwhp on the camaro5 homepage. Hopefully he/she will fix it.

Rotational mass(the weight of the wheels) only matters. It's like this. A 20lb 20'' aluminum wheel will produce more HP on the dyno than a 17'' 35lb wheel even though the 20'' is a larger size wheel. More wheel weight= more power used up to turn the wheels. This is the same concept as an aluminum driveshaft freeing up power because of it's lighter than stock weight.

Can someone explain to me what I am hearing during the tests?

I Can hear the normal engine sound, but there is another sound which to me, reminds me of the VIPER START-UP Sound in the old Battlestar Galactica. Is there a blower or fan of some kind on this car? Could that be what I am hearing?

2: It did make hit the 400+ RWHP on the dyno, but the gains are not actually "+72 RWHP and +66 RWTQ" more like +45 RWHP and +40 RWTQ

Sorry for messing that up...

nope..what your hearing is the tires on the drums of the dyno..you will hear it no matter what car you may have up there

I noticed that too. My best guess was that it's the roller on the dyno. Someone please correct me if I'm wrong though.

EDIT: And I type too slow because someone else beat me to it^^^

Question

Wait.... Maybe I'm not getting it. On a 426HP car, you are only getting 355RWHP???? Is that correct?

the engine produces 426hp, but you lose some hp getting it to the wheels.

On a 426 HP car you're getting approximately 362 to the wheels based on the 15% drivetrain loss equation. The fastlane car dynoed lower than 362 because the weather was 85-90 degrees. I say this because dyno was most likely done 2 or so weeks ago, and I live in Houston, and the temps were up there close to 90 at the time.

wouldn't their building be air conditioned? that drive train loss equation isn't 100% accurate. therefore i believe your 362 result compared to the 355 actual result are correct.
