Ls1 lease
Hello everyone,
I am new on this forum and am looking to lease v6 camaro ls1 this month. I will be going to a dealership at the end of next week since I am traveling now, so was wondering if someone could provide me with an insight.. On the website it mentions that the car is around 220 a month + 2.2k down + tax and everything. So realistically, to get 220 a month I would have to put around 4k down? Am I getting this right? Also, those who were able to lease - are these numbers "artificial" and are designed to just lure people into the dealership or are they actually attainable? Was someone able to get a better deal than that? What about the credit application? This will be the first car I will be getting a credit for, so never had any car loans under my name. Additionally, my credit history is rather limited, with only about 10 months of history. I realize I will not qualify for the best ratet, but does anyone know if the numbers are decent for a non-perfect situation? Sorry for so many questions... Thank you all on advance!! |

10 Months of credit history isn't very good. You may not qualify for that specific leasing promition. I an sure the dealer will suggest a different payment plan with a stupid high interest rate.
I got my best rate from a credit union, but I have a long history of decent credit. The dealer matched what I go, so maybe try a credit union first to see what you can get. |

Would purchasing be a better option then? I was planning to put about 7k down. Also, what kind of OTD price should I try to negotiate on a base 1ls? I appreciate the input!

LS1 is a V8 97-02 Camaro. Guessing you meant 1LS or 1LT. Just wondering cause that could change alot.

I am currently wotking on a lease for the LS2 - From what I am seeing the program running for for a 1LS is $2100 down @239 a month - Total out of pocket would be about $3300 - you may be able to wiggle on that a bit.

I signed my lease about a month ago. I did a sign and drive with $0 down and my payments are $350/month. I wasnt thrilled about doing a lease but after running all the numbers, comparing to a loan, and out of pocket expenses I decided to do it. I plan to purchase the car after the 39mo lease, and my purchase price + what I will have paid in lease payments will be essentially what I would have paid on a 60 mo loan with the interest, without having had to shell out the 20% down and will own it sooner.

That seems like a decent deal. Even makes me consider an SS, but that is probably not going to have good rates >.< Will be going to a dealership next week to see what kind of rates I get
