Silver cylinder in engine bay???
Does anyone know what the silver cylinder is on the leftside of the engine bay? It has a vacuum port and plugs in to an electrical outlet but it also has a port that releases to the atmosphere. I'm thinking it might have to do something with idle control but not sure.

Nope, fuel pump is in-tank. I haven't seen the cylinder in any pics of the v8 engine bay. Makes me wonder even more.

I could be wrong, but I think it's the High pressure fuel pump for the DI, I believe the one from the tank is a lower pressure type that feeds this, or not.....

It could be that but I wonder how it will aid in pressurizing the fuel. The hose thats connected to the cyclinder is t-ed into the hose that goes into the back of the intake manifold. Maybe the fuel passes through the back of the manifold before reaching the fuel rails.

Give us some time. Someone will get the answer. Mean while I was looking thru the schematics at work but had to leave to take my son to bowling. I will check back into this later this evening. If you need to know sooner take it to the dealer and ask them.
