How long would NorCal take to get to SoCal? If they left around 4am and meet up with us around 5am would something like that work?

If it's that big of a deal for So cal to get there earlier when the sun is cooler, you guys should make a decision to either go ahead without us, or wait and go during the afternoon like the rest.

Its 5-8 hours, depending on where people are leaving from (Sacramento, Modesto, SF bay area and down the line) Just stopping to pick up all the different groups/fuel up takes some time.

My question (cause I have no idea), how hot is it REALLY going to be? 100? 115? I dont know, never driven that way before.
Im personally not worried at all about heat... Even in the event of some sort of breakdown, there are going to be over 100 people to lend a hand/take care of each other.

I think the timing planned above is damn near perfect! An knowing us, We will be driving a tiny bit faster than the posted amount (by accident, of course).

Im just stoked, Ive got a co-pilot now, so Im ready to roll!

My 2 cents!

My earlier was getting into Blythe around 12:00 or 1:00. I am working with a restraunt trying to see if they can do something for 100-200 people.

I know that may make it harder on the Nor Cal peeps, if that isn't possible then I can see what I can do for the Palm Springs area around lunch?

i dont think the sun is a big deal. im worried that we may not be anticipating enough time for breaks....gassing up our cars and eating in such a big group is going to take forever! Didn't local stations run out of gas last year? Have we planned for that?
im nervous we'll be late and i dont want to miss one minute of c5fest

I think IBM/2SS/RS/LS3 compensated for breaks in his itinerary. Although, we SoCalers can't get our act together

yes his itinerary did allow for breaks (nice job btw! very thorough ) but i think its a best case scenario. I anticipate things will take a lot longer when there's 90+ cars involved.

geeze socal! get it together...LOL

Just found the spot for the Bakersfield meet up. Some of you guys who went to the park with us for the BBQ, might remember.
I'll post later.
I need an approximate count from Fresno/modesto people.

and from Norcal, to make sure we have enough room.

Thank you and we shouldn't be at 90+ cars until we leave Cabazon.

If SoCal can be fueled by the time we get there, all the better.. or if we're way ahead of schedule, we can be fueled by the time SoCal gets there...

Pleasanton to Bako (fuel up) is 260 miles (EB 580 - EB 205 - NB 5 - EB 120 - SB 99) picking up Sac, Modesto/Merced and Fresno (stretch/break) and Bako (quick breakfast/fuel) (4 1/2 hrs to be safe).
at 70 MPH is just over 3.7 hours and at this point I think we'd be around 25-35 cars pulling into Bako

Quote:
Bako to Cabazon is 205 miles ( EB 58 - SB 395 - SB 15/215 - EB 10) meeting with SoCal (4 hrs/safe)
at 70 is under 3 hours and at 25-45 cars pulling into Cabazon.

I'd think between 30 & 40 and at most 50 by the time we hit Bako
