Agree with Cal. A little nervous with mySSt in the her first car show. Parking next to the Yellow Jacket - I mean, the Bee, kept us calm though!

Questions

Ok, have battery tender hooked up on Elvis, most likely a overkill but have it just in case, thanks for advice....

Now next question for members and or guests......

Do any of you use any type of additive in gas to help keep fuel injection clean and working correctly....have no problem but wonder if this is necessary on some frequency to aid in prevention with this Ethnol in gas crap...

If so what brand do you use and what frequency ?

Hope to see you guys next meet.....

On Star service

Called to cancel my expensive on star service on Elvis today ($31.00/month)

Offered me safe & sound service for 12 months plus 2 free months, total months 14, plus 100 free minutes, plus six months navigation free all for $12.41 per month..........pretty good deal

Wanted to share with members and quests

Safe & Sound is everything except navigation...my gps will navigate just fine.

Jimmy

As far as additives they are really hit and miss and mostly miss. Best thing you can do is fill up with good high octane non ethanol fuel. I always use fuel with Techron after having all sorts of fuel gauge related issues on our C5. I didn't believe it would help until I did as instructed by other owners and ran a few tanks of Chevron 93 with Techron and it completely fixed the fuel gauge issue. I just went thru this with my TransAm actually, I drove it so little that I took it to Arkansas a few weeks ago and stuck in my shop for storage (I put less than 300 miles in 2 years on it). I did just like I told you, full tank of 93 (full tank gives less room for moisture to form). If you aren't going to use the fuel very fast I would stay away from anything with Ethanol, it just attracts water and is much more destructive to fuel system components.

Its hard to find in Texas, when I was in Oklahoma recently it was everywhere and they advertised it on the station as ethanol free. Craft Corner in Flint is listed as E0 gas on this site http://www.buyrealgas.com/Texas.html. I filled up in Arkansas though.

You can also buy a tester to use at the station.

Ended up deciding to add 1 pint of Seafoam gas additive to a full tank of 93 octane....appears Seafoam has good press on the Forum....
Again having no problems but now have 8000 miles and Elvis sits in my shop a good bit so just in case any water condensation has been produced in gas tank.
Unable to find 100 per cent gasoline....all gas around locally has the Ethenol.

Time for good wash/detail...
