Talking New Window Tint - Windshield included

I live in MN and wanted to tint my windows darker than the legal limit on my 2011 Camaro. So, I went to my opthamologist and asked for a prescription for vehicle tint yesterday. He wrote it out for 30% on the sides and back and 50% for the windshield, upon my request. I got it done this morning. The 50% looks great from the inside and out and the 30% is perfect for the sides and back. I can see out just fine, even in my dark garage. So, night driving will not be an issue at all.

Looks good, but if you have a prescription....why not do 5% on the sides and back? Thats what I would have done. And be sure to keep a copy of that in your car when you get pulled over.

I am painting the wheel trim, that's why they're not on there. And the prescription said 30% for the sides and 50% for the windshield. You can do this in any state, as long as you have a prescription.

Thanks!! Racing stripes sometime in the next few days.

Looks great. No windshield tint allowed here in NC and 35% is the legal limit here too -boooooo, I'd love to have 20% on my car, oh well..

35% in Alabama but I got a 5% strip on the windshield which is legal in our state. Haven't taken a picture of it but it looks great on my IOM.

Unfortunately prescriptions don't mean squat diddly in court, they only work on stupid cops that don't know any better. The smart officers will still give you a ticket as it will still be held up in court unless you can prove you suffer from photosensitivity.

Yeah, the LAW states that I can have this done with a prescription. So, it will hold up in court, unless the court doesn't go by the law. If I were to get a ticket for this, it would be unlawful. I have a reason, supported by medical documentation, and within the scope of the law.
