Another one demolished.........
-- just received a note from a salesperson at a Chevy dealership - and then another note from the customer who ordered TWO new Camaros from him.....
I had the privilege of meeting the customer -- actually a gentleman and his wife - at the Philadelphia Autoshow. He'd ordered and was enjoying a very early 2010 SS/RS (low build number) - and his wife had a new Convertible on order. I allowed her to get into the IOM SS convertible that we had at the show - (barriered) - and she told me she was very much looking forward to driving her new convertible..... The convertible came in a couple of weeks ago...... Now............. ......Our engineers worked long and hard to ensure that the new Camaro is as safe as possible. A quick search on this site will show that these cars can take an awful hit - and if you're buckled in properly - you stand a very good chance of walking away from the accident. We cannot, however, change the laws of physics - so I beg you to always be alert when driving.......YOU may be paying attention, but the person behind you -- or in front of you - may not be.......... ........but I digress! The Husband was on his way home last Friday - he was sitting at a stop-light - undoubtedly enjoying the drive in his 'pride and joy'........... ............seems the driver of a Lincoln Navigator was quite tired - and wasn't paying attention as closely as he should have been...........and seemed to 'drift over'........................... ..............and impacted the Camaro SS/RS at approx. 60mph......... Our fellow enthusiast took a ride to the Emergency room where he received some stitches - and of course, he's got lots of aches and pains........ .........the salesperson sent me a note -- asking me to share his thanks to the Team for building such a safe car..........and the customer wrote to me -- telling me that while his body will heal, being without his Camaro will be torture......and that he can hardly wait to get his hands on a new ZL1. .........just another reason to always buckle up - each and every time.........and yes, I sound like a broken record, but I want each and every one of you to be around for a longgggggggggg time! Sheet metal can be replaced - YOU and your loved ones cannot................... My prayers that Mike will have a quick recovery.........

Lucky he wasn't hurt worse.
Sheet metal can always be replaced and a ZL1 sounds like a really nice replacement |

WOW......glad it was hit in the back, not the front with the Navigator doing 60!! so glad he walked away......I personally have been the VICTIM 3 times in my life......and at least twice, the officer at the sceen looked at me, looked at the car....and shock his head and said to me...."it just wasn't your time, thats the only reason the coroner isn't picking you up, not the ambulance" BUCKLE UP!!.

From the tone of your post, I thought this was going to have a worse ending to it than it did
Glad everyone is ok and I'm sure he can't wait to drive his ZL1!

That...most certainly will NOT buff out.
I am glad to hear the driver escaped with minimal injury. Like Scott said, we can't change the laws of physics. But I'll be damned if the weight gain over the 4th generation cars isn't worth it's weight in gold the way these things hold up in accidents. "Crash-organized mass" is what allows cars to "win" in these kinds of accidents, and GM has obviously done their homework!!! Oh, and provided the other guy had insurance....girlfriend gonna get PAID... |

I did too. This same situation happened to someone I know; he wasn't as fortunate. The car doesn't move til everyone's buckled up. Too easy.
