I don't understand the 17 inch thing.. 28 inch tall tire is just to short and the contact patch is to small on the only thing available for the 17 inch wheel. either stick with the 20s or change the car and go 15.

the 17 inch tire cannot put as much rubber down.. when dropping from the 305 which is almost 30 inches tall, and wider, you cannot get the same amount of rubber on the ground with the 17-28-10.. which is all that's out there.. if someone would release a 30 inch tall 17 inch slick, things would maybe be different..

I have a M & H drag radial in a 325 45 17 arriving any day now. I'm hoping the contact patch combined with some sidewall flex will work well, we''ll see next weekend.

I'm going with the 17" route. Same 17" M&H drag radials as mylftft above. Going with skinnies too for that little extra. 17" works well without modifications of any kind and you gain the sidewall flex compared to the higher profile 18s & 20s...not like you don't know this already...lol!

I'm going with the 17's with Hoosier slicks at the track for now. On the street I'll just stick with the Nitto NT05R 20" at least until they wear out

17" Hoosier slicks are most likely the stickiest available. I will get these when my drag radials wear out. The only thing is I hate the hassle of swapping tires at the track. Many times, I have driven my wife & kids with the drag radials on it to the track. Unload them, air down the rears, and go directly to staging lanes...lol!

I hear you, only difference is I don't allow anyone in the back seat. Its just for holding my helmet. my kids have to bring another car. Best part is the oldest daughter has a pickup so now she can haul my tires. Lol

I agree. I believe the M/T's are a better option for our cars if your running 20's.
