Can a tune lower my HP/efficiency?

I know nothing about tuning and such so hear me out.

Just got my car dynoed and I am running 425rwhp/422 TQ. All I have is a CAI, headers, and am NOT tuned. The stock Camaros that also got tuned were running around 360hp. A couple cars with the same mods as me WITH a tune were running around 405-410 HP. All those numbers seem right so I trust the dyno. All the cars were done on the same dyno.

First off, any ideas why mine was so high?

Second, I plan on getting a tune soon, is it possible since I am already putting out high numbers that a tune could lower my engine efficiency? Like, what if I am running at max efficiency right now lol.

This is a pretty well known shop. They have a drag Camaro putting down about 900rwhp with their tunes and such.

Enlighten me

This was the first run, second was the numbers I stated above

If the tuner sucks, the results will suck.
Were all of the cars you mentioned done on the same dyno?

You have a 2SS Camaro and have posted over 15K times in these forums and know nothing about tuning.......ok?

According to your build list you should know something about tuning. LOL

Type of dyno makes a differance. Mustang dynos #s usually will be about 12% less than a Dynojet.

Looks like a Dynojet. So if the other cars were dynoed on a mustang, there is your answer. Your numbers seem about right for a Dynojet with your mods. A stock ls3 would do like 330-350 on a mustang dyno. Or like 375-385 on a dynojet

Your Car M6?
cars with the same mods were A6?
...a tune should optimize your performance/mods so you should be running better depends on what you want & tuner -

when I had the Dyno-tune on the 1st run I was 10HP higher - was running to lean (to much air / not enough fuel). I ran the Edlebrock box tune for awhile, but had Jennatty tune it - pest thing that could happen = 520.2RWHP / 520.2RWTQ.
