Very small. They just don't go bad unless they've been abused.

The guy is either blowing smoke, too lazy to do it, or just doesn't know how and doesn't want to appear incompetent. They still do it.

Scroll up, this has already been mentioned. One solenoid/sensor is always near the fuel door on GM vehicles which on the Camaro is above the passenger rear axle, the other is located in the gas tank.

Disconnected the battery to clear the CEL while changing my oil... light was clear for about 30 minutes and back in.

I guess the next step would be to bite the bullet and take it in for troubleshooting... Not looking forward to that, especially considering I'll be paying a tech for a diagnostic that's most likely only going to confirm what you fine folks have already said.

This part fails pretty often it seems like...

If you're under warranty, diagnostic will be free.

Well I'm out of bumper to bumper warranty, but still well within powertrain. That's good to know!

Soory, no. I just returned from vacation and have a week full of work. I'm hoping Friday I'll get the chance to run it in to the dealer.

I have the same problem. Did you get yours fixed yet. Dealer quoted me 705 to fix this. They say they have to drop the fuel tank to get to it.

Only $705? that's actually not as bad as I expected... From other's experience I thought it was going to be $1300+.

I haven't had a chance to take it in yet, working too much. But maybe today...

My mechanic ordered the $200 part and will install it in a few days. Gonna cost me $500-$700 total and that sux that Chevrolet won't cover it. But as I'm miles away from the nearest Chevrolet dealer I didn't have an option. Will think twicw about buying another Chevrolet!!

Good for you. But my 2010 has 48,000 miles on it. A situation like this on a first year model car should be covered by warranty regardless of mileage. Chevrolet is good about relocating and redesigning problem parts on first run vehicles in subsequent years to alleviate re-occurring problems. But they oughta have the balls to issue a recall on malfunctioning parts like this instead of just issuing a TSB. I am very disappointed in their "no action taken" stance on this issue.

Actually, it IS against the law to clear ANY emissions related codes that are failed/current. This keeps jacklegs from going to advance auto and having codes cleared just to make a sell and get more $$ out of the car because the cel isn't on. No reason to clear it if it's going to come right back after two consecutive failures.
