Dough Thorley Shorties, What ELSE?
IM looking to completely redo the exhaust system; headers to tips.
Im absolutely going with the Dough Thorley shorties. I need to stay smog/emissions legal, and can spend the $ on the shorties. What should i match it with? What pipe, what exhaust system? what exactly is everything else im going to need to completely redo the exhaust system. emails to dframptonot@gmail.com thanks!!!! |

Or have a shop custom build you a Catback system with the mufflers you want. That's what I did and am very pleased. My clip is in my sig. I was so very tempted by the Thorley Catback and was on the list for a while but the delays wore me down and decided to do my own. Can't go wrong with the Thorley Catback either in my opinion. They have a great video clip of a dyno.

Here's a link to the setup I'd use:
http://dougthorleyheaders.com/products/productID/1044 I got a line on the setup for way less, new in box from a Distributor. Like...$250 less than what the MSRP is. PM me if you want his info. -Ivan |

I have DT shorties with stock cats and Solo Mach-X cat back and I love this setup! Sounds great, easy install, very clean look, and good seat of pants performance with no issues or codes! The Solo has 1 single mid-muffler/X pipe then 2 1/2" pipes to the tips and perfectly symetrical! There are many sound clips if you do a search or look in the exhaust compilation thread! Good luck!

Sounds good. Lemme know how I can help.
As far as "what else" I'd like to think that DT would include the pieces to connect the shorties up to your potential catback, but looking at their website, I don't see them included. I would definitely call them up and shoot them a quick question as to how they intend to connect the shorties to their catback. They have to have a solution. I'll talk to my guy Monday and ask him if he knows. I'll keep in touch. Have a great weekend y'all, Ivan |

Yessir. Incluldes the X-Pipe. The one in the picture was the initial prototype. I'll make sure and take pics once I unpack and prior to install.
It's a nice setup....only thing I'd change would to make it a 3" system but then again, I honestly don't think that it would make a hell of a difference between 3" and the 2.5" that it comes. SSRSMAGNACONV-You're absolutely welcome! Hope you go with this as well....looks like it's top shelf stuff and so far,the service has been awesome! Thanks!, Ivan |
