He was referring to a few pics of SBR's I had posted. I had to delete the post due to issues I was having with the pic hoster.

The 9mm AR is all Colt with a 10.5" bbl. W/KAC rail

Both are PS90 SBR's

Holy shit, that's a ton of stuff on your AR.

What's the point of all of it?

There is no way to make this sound respectful, but I have a feeling it is the first AR he has built. I know because I did the same thing - I wanted a do all, have everything AR. Then I realized most of that stuff was never going to be used, sold the gun, and built a lightweight model because it gets carried more than anything.

Just an FWI with the Barrett - the MOA is not even comparable to a McMillan Tac 50. I can be within 12 inches consistently at 2k yards and the Barrett is on avg 22 inches. big difference. You get what you pay for. If you are shooting at cars then not a big deal...if you are shooting at 2x2 ft steel at distance it will make from a hit or no hit.

They are both fun to shoot, just depends on how accurate you are wanting to be consistently.

That wouldn't surprise me. I built a carbine AR and all it has is a cheap red dot. I didn't want my AR to weigh more than my M1.

Actually not my first. If you look at what I added that was not a replaced part it wasn't very much. Just scope, red dot, laser, and pistol grip. The reason for having a red dot and a laser is that my wife (prior military) prefers the laser for up close targets while I (active military) prefer the reflex sight (neither of which adds any noticeable weight)Same goes for the pistol grip and mag well grip. I like one she likes the other. The bi-pod is a quick release and is removed while at home and only gets out on if desired at the range. So during a home defence scenario my wife and I will both have what we are comfortable and use to. The flashlight is a must for home defense. So like I said, everything has a purpose and is tailored to the tastes of two people. I would remove the scope while at home but it would never be spot on after removing it. I use the gun for coyotes that have been killing deer on our land. The list of parts seem so long because I included replaced factory parts. So yes this is my utility gun. Home defense and hunting.

I will eventually remove the scope once I pick up a Remington 700 to use for the coyotes, leaving the AR for purely home defense

I like the TAC 50 but... to be honest I prefer the way the Barrett feels!

Or buy a reloading press and make your own ammo.

AR for Home Defense?? A shotgun is the ultimate home defense weapon. Certain Shotgun shells will not penetrate multiple walls, technically leaving your loved ones at minimal risk, while blasting the sh*t out of the bad guy.
