Has anyone heard the flowmaster outlaw catback system? I know they've had the axle-back for awhile but I think the cat-back just recently came out for the outlaw mufflers. I'm torn between the American Thunder, which I have on my '67 Camaro and sounds great, the outlaw system, or the Borla ATAK catback. I know listening to tons of videos online isn't the same as the real thing, so maybe somebody has heard all 3 in person. I'm wanting aggressively loud, but not sounding like a semi exhaust braking. I'm used to loud from my old car, but not sure which one of these has a better tone. I've always had Flowmaster but just not sure if the AMT will be loud enough.

I can't seem to find any good sound clips of the outlaw system and not sure it's worth the doubled price for the Borla. BTW, I'm all stock at the moment. LS3, but no other mods yet, I like the factory tone, just time for something a lot louder

Here's a clip of my car on the dyno with the AMT exhaust. Lemme assure you without a shadow of a doubt - this exhaust is STOOOOPID loud. The video just doesn't do it justice. When I leave my buddy's house, he says he can hear me rowing through the gears as I pull onto the highway just over a mile away. If you want freakin' loud, and like the Flowmaster sound, then I can assure you, this exhaust is loud enough for anyone. And I've been used to my 69 Chevelle with a 502 and Weiand 8-71 with Flowmasters for years. Get the AMT - you won't be disappointed if you want an insane sounding exhaust.

That sounds nice, one of the better videos I've heard, thanks. I like the flowmaster sound and at half the price of the Borla it's even better. I'm just curious how the outlaw sounds compared to this. Also, do you have any other mods besides the AMT catback? Those torque readings looked a little high for just an exhaust

Good eye!

Yeah, 449 rwhp and 426 rwtq isn't stock. Emissions-legal .640"/.608" camshaft, dual springs, titanium retainers, needle bearing rocker trunion conversion, hardened pushrods, 3-bolt camshaft conversion, HD timing chain, Texas Speed 1 7/8" long tube stainless headers, cat-delete pipes, 3" Flowmaster AMT cat-back. And most importantly, a custom tune over 5 dyno pulls by Clint Baxstrom.

The camshaft/tune is the key, my friend. It's easy to do, and I would recommend you contact Clint @ American Intense Racing to get this camshaft. Killer custom grind he developed. Don't worry - you really can do a camshaft swap yourself. It's very easy on these cars.

Yea there's no way just the exhaust made it sound that good lol. I'm only gonna do exhaust and CAI for right now. This is my daily driver and I wanna keep it somewhat decent on gas and still under warranty, but looking for the best sounding exhaust for stock cats and manifolds. I wish i coukd hear the new Outlaw full setup in person since its thr same "style" of muffler as the borla and mags. Other than that, any money I put into engine mods are gonna go towards my '67. That's my race car.....for now

2011 SS L99 with Stainless Power 1 7/8 headers, catless pipes, stock resonator( the monster can), and Solo w/ j-pipes axle-back. Haha, covered my plates but it blew off, oh well.

Do you have a build thread by chance?
Your Camaro sounds absolutely amazing. I'd love to know all that you've done to it.

No, I'm sorry I did not bother to do a build thread. Enginewise it's an L99 with a LS3 conversion, a Livernois 2C blower cam, tvs 2300 magnuson, roto-fab CAI, CNC ported throttle body, kooks 1 7/8" long tubes with full 3" kooks pipes and kooks mufflers. All the rest of the goodies don't affect the sound, just performance.
